Have spent this lovely Good Friday morning cruising Online Fabric Store - look at this fantastic coloured burlap! Crafters rejoice, right?! Burlap is actually great for curtains because it lets a lot of light in. My problem with burlap curtains has always been the burlap that I have is a cool shade of brown so it gives the rooms a very cool feeling. A big part of the beauty of our house is the light it lets in - so much warm sunlight! - so why would I want to cool it down?

Next question IS - how hard do you think it is to dye burlap?

This is a little shot of our office and I have to say - one of the best decisions I made was choosing grass panels for the window coverings. The window faces NE, so we get pretty good sunshine in the mornings. But the grass panels make even the smallest bit of Mr. Sun warm up the entire room.

My office is my little home inside my home - my work, my play and my cats all come together in this room. I have space to stretch out, enjoy my coffee and my mood is without fail, boosted when I’m in here.

I wish Dave Grohl could be my kid's Godfather.

I’d be shocked if you’re someone that doesn’t think he’s mad cool, because he’s honest and he’s genuine and he’s good with himself and he’s good with the world, and he’s accepting of differences and of others and I could go on and on. And he’s into creating - it’s not about accolades, it’s not about record sales, it’s not about image, it’s not about this and that, it’s about passion for creating and for music and to a greater extent, art.

1. No one is you and that is your biggest power.

It’s about taking care of yourself so you can be a better human being. A 2.0 version of you is way more equipped to help others in need. Take up yoga if you’re stressed. Ask for a big raise. Walk away from a relationship that is abusive or draining. Or just take a nap, for Christ’s sake.

4. Be humble.

No one wants to go to lunch with a supermodel who says things like, “My cheekbones, if you’ve noticed, have a similar incline to an escalator.” One thing I’ve noticed is that if you are good at something, people will acknowledge it. Appreciate the hell out of those people. Should you be blessed enough to have the fortitude to work so hard at something that people celebrate you, your first reaction should be gratitude. And know that there’s a ton of people out there from all races and socioeconomic backgrounds who can still teach you something. I don’t care if you’re Bill Clinton or Jay-Z – always be learning; always be improving.

5. Spark a revolution.

Always have the highest bar for yourself. Wake up everyday and no matter how crappy you feel, want to change something for the better. Do something that makes someone happy. Create something that inspires someone. Be someone’s light when they are hopeless

I saw a pin the other day - you’ve all seen it - the 48 tricks to make your life INFINITELY easier! I always click and read them, and usually it’s the same recycled tips, like using a bread bag clip to label your plugs on a power bar. Thanks for that revolutionary piece of knowledge.

But I saw one the other day that kind made me squint and kind of made me curious. It’s the fry an egg in an onion trick. You don’t know it? Don’t feel bad, neither did I. It claimed that you could fry and egg basically perfectly round just using the outside circle of an onion.

Hey, I got time. I’ll give it a go. Here’s how it turned out.

Um. It worked. Basically perfectly. Plus my open egg sandwich had just a TOUCH of onion to it, not too much, just enough. Pinterest, I should have more faith in you!
