*Note: Hoping to post some tutorials on some of these crafts! Probably the brown sugar scrub and the guest book! MWUAH!
Excited to share this post! I threw a baby shower this weekend - my first - and I couldn’t have been happier to throw it for one of my all time favourite people of all time every of all time, Jessica! Little missy was 6 weeks pregs at my wedding so this baby has an extra special place in my heart.

ANYWAYS - here are some projects I created using washi tape from Omiyage - one of my fav products and a great group of gals! Because Jess & Dean don’t know the sex of the baby, the colours I choose to use for the shower were basically Easter pastels - purple, green, mint, coral, pink, blue - but lots of colour = lots of texture!

These drinking glasses are simple mason jars (obv) with strips of ribbon tied around the necks. To add some extra flavour, I ordered paper straws from Omiyage and used washi tape to make little name tags for each glass, so people would know who’s was who’s.

Love the patterned washi tape for this! To match the colour scheme and the glasses, I tied thick ribbon from Michael’s (about $4 a roll) around my two juice jugs.

To round off my table decor, I spread around these little plastic safety pins of the pink and blue variety - found them at the dollar store for about $1 for a pack of 100.

One of our games was a baby pool - the calender was INFINITELY easier to make and looked A LOT prettier using the washi tape.

Everyone had to guess answers to the questions listed in the box - that was fun. Jessica took the poster home and the winner gets bragging rights. I guess the 13th - FINGERS crossed!!

For another game, we guessed the size of Jessica’s tummy. Each person had a long - UBER LONG - piece of string that was attached to a little clothes clip. You used the clothes clip to mark how much yarn it would take to make it around Jessica’s stomach. Let’s just say - I have no idea how big belly’s get.

For the guest book, I bought a children’s book and a box of cards. I started by glueing the envelopes into the front cover of the book. At the shower, I asked all of the guests to write a note in the card, and then took Polaroid photos of each guest with Jess, so we could stick that in the envelope as well. A nice little keepsake! I would like to say that this is an Alix original :)

Of course, last but not least, the favours I made! So Leah made me some brown sugar body scrub once and she said it was uber easy so I thought, um I love easy projects. The brown sugar body scrub is basically mixing olive oil and brown sugar together and then adding a scent if you want - I used vanilla and almond scents. I bought short mason jars, and wrapped the lid in washi tape and ribbon. Then I made little tags, decorated with washi tape and named the scrub “Sweet Jessica Scrub” BOOYAH. Also an Alix original. I gave them out in little party bags filled with matching tissue paper.
